Trigger Explanations

Here is a list of triggers and what could be done about them. There are many triggers in each person that are set depending on what they went through in life. Triggers are things that stimulate programs or memories that DID/SRA survivors have experienced. Not all the triggers will be experienced by every single survivor because everyone has various backgrounds. This is only a beginning list. This is also a list for those who can't find answers for what is going on in their life.
1. Certain words and cliches (for example: It's your choice).
2. Phone calls or a certain amount of rings on the phone.
3. Letters have triggers and begin progamming as well as emails that come from people who have been abusive to the survivors. The person receiving the letters or cards may give them to the person working with them. This is to help avoid being triggered or setting off programs to run. You and the person working with you can decide together what to do with them (ex: throwing them away, allowing the support person read them with you, etc.)There are many things you can do, these are only a couple of options.
4. Scriptures in the Bible - People in the cult will teach part of a scripture for the use of fear in order to get what they want from the survivor. It is another way to manipulate or twist what the True Lord Jesus meant for good. An example of this would be "suffer the little children". Another example is that the dead bones will come to life (Ezekial 37). This one is a trigger that cult people try to bring dead people to life and put the dead person's spirit in the survivor. It is all about the cult people getting more power from the demonic realm. Survivors are just their instruments.
5. Freemason symbols - circles on the floor, black and white checkered floors, roses, candles on the tips of each star on the floor, compass, the "G", a gold ring with the Freemason symbol, covering all the windows and doors to their building.
6. Blinking lights to call out an alter
7. Geometric shapes or patterns
8. Becoming a certain age/birthdays (for an alter, primary part or the body itself)
9. Particular smells
10. Specific times of the day or night that is not comfortable and that it seems difficult to stay focused.
11.Nightmares or Nighterrors occur many nights and are very vivid.
